NODWIN Gaming Acquires Freaks 4U Gaming

NODWIN Gaming, a subsidiary of Nazara Technologies, has entered into definitive agreements to acquire 100% of the equity in Berlin-based esports and gaming marketing agency Freaks 4U Gaming. This acquisition marks a significant consolidation of assets, as NODWIN increases its existing 13.51% stake to full ownership through a series of tranches. The transaction is structured as a share swap valued at approximately €30.3 million, or $32.5 million USD.

This deal follows an earlier investment in January 2024, where NODWIN injected €8 million into the agency by converting a previous loan and purchasing additional shares. The move comes amid a period of organizational restructuring for Freaks 4U Gaming, which recently announced staff reductions intended to stabilize business operations following similar cuts in late 2023.

Despite the change in ownership, Freaks 4U Gaming will maintain its brand identity and operational independence. The leadership teams, represented by CEO Michael Haenisch and Akshat Rathee, are expected to collaborate closely as the company integrates into the broader NODWIN ecosystem. The acquisition highlights a strategic expansion of influence across the European and South Asian esports markets, with a continued focus on mobile esports and professional gaming services.
