The Games Lift Incubator 2021 program officially commenced in September 2021, marking the start of a three-month intensive development phase for five selected game development teams based in Hamburg. The initiative serves as a professional support structure designed to accelerate the progress of independent game projects through structured mentorship, specialized workshops, and access to industry expertise.
The program supports a diverse cohort of participants, including established development teams such as Symmetry Break Games, SUPERNATURAL GAMES, and consider it, alongside solo developer Denise Koch and the project team behind The Invitation. Throughout the three-month duration, these participants receive guidance from a network of international industry professionals, including representatives from Valve, Deep Silver FISHLABS, and 1up capital, as well as legal and technical experts.
The incubator curriculum is structured around key milestones to ensure project development and professional growth. Participants engage in a rigorous schedule of workshops and individual mentoring sessions, culminating in a Milestone Pitch on October 21 and a final public presentation at the Games Lift Graduation on December 9. By providing a dedicated co-working environment and direct access to a curated network of mentors, the program aims to refine the participants' game ideas and prepare them for the competitive games market. This initiative highlights the ongoing commitment of Gamecity Hamburg to fostering local talent and strengthening the regional games industry ecosystem.
