Stream Hatchet
Live streaming audiences are already invested in sports and esports outcomes.
The live streaming industry has become a primary growth engine for the iGaming and betting sector, with global search interest increasing eightfold between 2023 and 2026. This synergy is driven by the natural alignment between live streaming audiences—who are already emotionally invested in the outcomes of sports and esports—and the real-time nature of betting and prediction content. The analysis focuses on data from January 2026 across major platforms including Twitch, Kick, and YouTube to evaluate how these brands leverage creator partnerships and community engagement.
Stake currently dominates the landscape, accounting for 60% of all iGaming brand mentions in stream titles across Twitch and Kick. This structural advantage stems from the brand’s direct affiliation with the Kick platform, which provides a permissive environment for gambling content. Consequently, the top ten creators by iGaming hours watched are all based on Kick, with industry leaders like Trainwreckstv, Classybeef, and ROSHTEIN generating over 42 million hours of viewership in a single month.
Beyond traditional gambling, the U.S. market is seeing significant traction in prediction markets such as Polymarket and Kalshi. These platforms outperform traditional sportsbooks like FanDuel in chat mentions, as their focus on real-world events encourages higher levels of community discussion and active participation. Furthermore, specialized YouTube channels like Stokastic DFS demonstrate that non-gambling-specific media brands can effectively capture betting-literate audiences through strategic content. The findings suggest that for iGaming brands, success in live streaming requires moving beyond simple brand visibility toward fostering organic, real-time engagement that integrates the platform into the viewer's experience.
