[Music] okay so um I need your help guys um I live in South Carolina and we got hit pretty hard by Hurricane Helen I think it was last week um it's been a blur but it's it was pretty bad in my city but in North Carolina Western North Carolina it's just completely like the towns are just devastated um so yesterday I went up with a group of friends and we did like a little search and rescue um just to see how the town was doing and if they needed supplies and it was just apocalyptic to be honest um entire home's washed away um a lot of homes are like teetering on the edge of
like the river so like half of the house is just hanging over the edge of rivers um I talked to a lot of the residents there and they mentioned that you know Insurance isn't going to cover their homes they don't know what kind of government assistance there is regarding their homes um what's even sadder about the whole thing is that all of these families not only did they lose their homes they can't get to work cuz the roads are complet completely collapsed um the way we got there was we we had to like use like um four-wheelers and um side by sides to get across um gaps in the road and stuff so um there's no I I don't know what the solution is for any of it um but I do know that Samaritan Samaritans purse um is doing everything they can as an organization to support Western North
Carolina because they're located in North Carolina so I'm starting a GoFundMe um with a goal of $110,000 and I'll make the first um donation um and usually I don't like to share donation numbers but I just want to get it started to encourage you guys if you could please please please support below and help out the the towns in North Western North Carolina it would mean a lot to me what I'll do is um I'll do a either a live stream or a video um where I thank all of the people individuals who supported on the GoFundMe the goal is $10,000 I can't wait to see what you guys can raise for North Carolina um just remember guys that stuff like this because it's so localized and um it's in these mountain towns what happens is the story doesn't
really get out of how just how devastating this hurricane actually was I mean this is historic like I was in a I was in a a little town high up in the mountains and but they wanted to stay because it was their home they basically said nothing like this has happened since I think 1916 there was a flood in 1916 so it's it's one of those hundred-year storms that came through so it is truly devastating but you're not going to hear about it um maybe you have but most people probably don't know just just how bad it is in Western North Carolina um it's truly just truly just apocalyptic and sharing this video uh commenting below liking and supporting on GoFundMe is something that we all can do in the face of these these stories not really getting the attention they deserve right and so my goal with this video is to to make sure that we can spread the word as much as we can
about something that the media doesn't really want to cover as much as I think they should um it truly is a historic just devastating storm Guys these are real people these are real families that are they're literally lost everything they've lost everything so every little bit helps and so like I said I'll I'll do the initial donation and I cannot wait to see what you guys can do um in support of these families um thanks so much guys I love you and um prayers to to to North Carolina would be helpful and also financial support links below cheers
