GameSquare subsidiary Stream Hatchet has secured this role, taking over from the previous data provider, Esports Charts.
GameSquare Holdings has secured a partnership for its subsidiary, Stream Hatchet, to serve as the official data and insights partner for the 2025 Esports World Cup. This agreement replaces the previous data provider, Esports Charts, for the multi-title tournament held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the collaboration aims to enhance data transparency and provide stakeholders with real-time performance analytics throughout the seven-week competition.
Under the terms of the partnership, Stream Hatchet will supply the Esports World Cup Foundation with performance dashboards and tailored insights. The organizations plan to collaborate on media outreach, social campaigns, and the dissemination of exclusive data to select press outlets during the event, which runs from July 7 to August 24, 2025. This move aligns with the broader commercial expansion of the Esports World Cup, which is funded by the Saudi Arabian government’s Public Investment Fund and operates in conjunction with the ESL FACEIT Group.
The Esports World Cup is a significant international event featuring a prize pool exceeding $70 million. Despite its scale and recent corporate partnerships with entities such as Lenovo, stc Group, and Aramco, the tournament continues to face scrutiny from international human rights organizations. Critics frequently characterize government-backed initiatives of this nature as efforts to engage in sports washing, citing concerns regarding the host nation's human rights record. The partnership with Stream Hatchet underscores the ongoing integration of specialized analytics firms into high-profile, state-funded esports infrastructure.
