GameSquare Holdings has entered into a strategic partnership with GGTech Entertainment to expand its presence in the United States collegiate esports and event sectors. The collaboration centers on licensing GGTech’s established intellectual properties, specifically the GAMERGY festival brand and the University Esports platform, for the U.S. market. This move aligns with GameSquare’s broader corporate strategy to scale its agency and experiences business by delivering culturally relevant content to next-generation audiences.
The partnership’s initial major project is the launch of GAMERGY 2026, scheduled for March 2026 in Dallas, Texas. GameSquare will assume responsibility for the event’s comprehensive execution, including strategic planning, design, marketing, talent acquisition, and day-to-day operations. Beyond large-scale festivals, the agreement aims to leverage GGTech’s University Esports infrastructure, which currently maintains a global footprint involving over 2,000 universities, 9,000 teams, and 100,000 active users, to create new engagement opportunities for American students.
While financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, both organizations intend to capitalize on their existing networks of high-profile industry partners. These include major game publishers such as Riot Games, Epic Games, and Activision, as well as a diverse array of corporate sponsors ranging from technology firms like Nvidia and Intel to consumer brands like McDonald’s and Red Bull. By integrating these resources, the partnership seeks to solidify GameSquare’s position as a premier provider of innovative gaming experiences within the North American market.
