Tattva Bhoomi functions as a 3D first-person educational tool designed to integrate chemistry curriculum with regional geography for middle school students across India. By utilizing an immersive, Rajasthan-themed desert landscape, the game facilitates learning through repetitive exploration and a reward-based progression system. Players unlock elemental powers that grant increased mobility, allowing them to collect resources and access previously restricted areas, thereby reinforcing scientific concepts through active, player-paced engagement rather than passive instruction.
The development process prioritized accessibility and pedagogical efficacy, resulting in a refined experience optimized for low-specification hardware common in educational settings. Iterative design choices, such as replacing text-heavy information with intuitive, pictogram-based visuals and removing restrictive timers, were implemented to foster thorough exploration and reduce cognitive load. These adjustments ensure that the gameplay remains accessible while maintaining a strong alignment with core educational objectives.
Pilot testing involving 71 participants confirms the effectiveness of this approach, with nearly all students demonstrating improved short-term knowledge retention following gameplay. While the current iteration successfully balances interactive mechanics with academic content, future development aims to expand customization options and investigate strategies for sustaining long-term learning outcomes. By blending multidisciplinary concepts with a user-centric design, the project establishes a scalable framework for digital education within the Indian school system.
