Creative Transfer Games: Hamburg

The Creative Transfer program provides financial assistance to German game developers and studios seeking to expand their professional reach through attendance at national and international industry conventions. The initiative aims to lower the barrier to entry for independent creators who lack the internal resources to fund travel to major conferences, thereby facilitating networking and project promotion opportunities.

Eligibility is restricted to independent studios headquartered in Germany with no more than 20 permanent employees. Selected applicants receive subsidies covering up to 80% of travel expenses, with caps set at 1,000 euros for domestic events and 2,000 euros for international gatherings. Each team is permitted to request funding for a maximum of three events within a designated six-month window.

Selection is determined by a jury process, ensuring that support is directed toward projects and studios that demonstrate a clear need for financial aid. By providing these grants, the program seeks to bolster the visibility of smaller German game developers on the global stage, fostering growth and professional development within the domestic industry.
