The Portuguese Esports Federation (FPDE) has officially renewed its partnership with Moonton Games, aiming to solidify Portugal’s position as a central hub for European competition within the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (ML:BB) ecosystem. While the financial specifics of the agreement remain undisclosed, the collaboration designates ML:BB as a flagship title for the upcoming Portuguese Esports Cup 2026, scheduled for June 4–7 in Fundão. This event is set to feature 20 distinct competitions across 16 titles with a total prize pool exceeding €15,000.
The renewal aligns with the FPDE’s "Vision 2030" strategic plan, a five-year initiative designed to elevate the national esports landscape through four primary pillars: the formal recognition of esports as an official sport, the implementation of health and education programs, the creation of robust competitive pathways with integrity frameworks, and the promotion of diversity and inclusion. By integrating ML:BB into this framework, the federation seeks to provide players with consistent, high-level international competitive opportunities.
The decision to extend the partnership follows strong performance metrics from the 2025 edition of the Portuguese Esports Cup, which generated 1.5 million media impressions, 26,000 interactions, and approximately €170,000 in media value. With over 230,000 minutes of content consumed across various platforms, ML:BB proved to be a standout title, justifying its continued prominence in the federation's event programming. This collaboration underscores the FPDE’s ongoing commitment to professionalizing the domestic market and fostering long-term growth within the global esports industry.
