A subsidiary of OverActive Media received official approval from Riot Games for the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) EMEA team participation agreement.
OverActive Media has received official approval from Riot Games to assume a Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) EMEA team participation agreement previously held by KOI. This transfer is a component of a broader acquisition strategy involving esports assets from both KOI and Movistar Riders. As a result of this regulatory clearance, OverActive Media is positioned to operate a team under the name Movistar KOI within the VCT EMEA ecosystem for the 2024 season.
The transaction marks a significant expansion of the company’s competitive footprint in Europe. Beyond its new entry into the Valorant circuit, OverActive Media maintains its presence in the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) through its existing team, MAD Lions KOI. Additionally, the organization has confirmed its continued involvement in the Overwatch ecosystem, transitioning into the Overwatch Champions Series under the management of the ESL FACEIT Group.
While the approval allows for the immediate execution of VCT player contracts, the overall acquisition of Team Randomk Esports S.L. remains subject to further conditions, including necessary approvals from the TSXV. Financial details regarding the transfer of the VCT participation agreement and the associated asset acquisitions have not been disclosed. The move underscores a strategic consolidation of assets within the European esports market, further integrating the company’s operations across multiple high-profile competitive titles.
