KLab’s financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 demonstrate a successful return to profitability, driven primarily by the strong launch of the mobile title DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow. After recording losses in the first quarter, the company achieved a non-consolidated operating income of 493 million yen for the second quarter, effectively absorbing earlier deficits and securing a cumulative profit for the first half of the year. Total revenue for the quarter reached 3,263 million yen, representing a 91.3% increase over the previous quarter and a 113.9% increase year-over-year.
The company’s gaming segment remains the primary revenue driver, though performance across its portfolio is mixed. While BLEACH Brave Souls experienced flat performance and Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team saw growth due to anniversary campaigns, the successful release of DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow in April provided the necessary momentum to shift the company into a positive operating margin of 15.1%. Despite a 136 million yen impairment loss on crypto assets, the company reported a final profit attributable to owners of the parent of 383 million yen.
To mitigate revenue volatility associated with the mobile game market, the company is actively diversifying its business model. Strategic initiatives include the establishment of a subsidiary in Dubai to expand into the MENA region, the development of AI-based automated trading systems, and partnerships in the defense and smart home sectors. Furthermore, the company is leveraging AI technology to optimize costs in VTuber production and content creation. These efforts, alongside a disciplined approach to managing development costs and capital, form the core of the company's strategy to stabilize performance and enhance long-term corporate value.
