KLab
KLab’s financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026 reflect a period of transition as the company navigates a challenging gaming market while positioning itself for a projected return to profitability. The company reported quarterly revenue of 1.7 billion yen, representing an 11.3% decline from the previous quarter but a 4.3% increase year-over-year. Operating income remained in the red at -453 million yen, largely due to ongoing investments in new title development and the performance fluctuations of established mobile games.
The company’s gaming segment continues to rely on key titles like Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team, which performed well during the quarter, while other titles such as BLEACH Brave Souls experienced revenue declines. To drive future growth, KLab successfully launched DRAGON QUEST Smash/Grow in April 2026 and has announced the upcoming release of My Hero Academia UNITED SURVIVAL. These titles are central to the company’s strategy to achieve a V-shaped recovery, with management forecasting full-year revenue of 17 billion yen and an operating profit of 1 billion yen—a milestone that would mark the company’s first full-year operating profit in five years.
Beyond traditional gaming, KLab is diversifying its revenue streams through non-game initiatives, including a GPU server sales business and the development of AI-driven entertainment. The company is actively integrating AI into its operations, evidenced by its partnership with I’mbesideyou Inc. to develop automated financial trading systems and the launch of AI-powered VTubers under the Yumekairo Production agency. Despite a decrease in cash and cash equivalents—attributed to strategic investments in Bitcoin and gold-backed ETFs—the company maintains a focus on controlling fixed costs and scaling its AI creative guild to capitalize on emerging digital content markets.
