This collaboration will bring data from the FACEIT platform directly into the HLTV user experience.
The editorial platform HLTV has entered into a strategic partnership with the competitive gaming platform FACEIT, a subsidiary of the ESL FACEIT Group. The primary objective of this collaboration is to integrate data from the FACEIT platform directly into the HLTV user experience, enhancing the depth of information available to the Counter-Strike community. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The partnership introduces several technical integrations, including enhanced Counter-Strike 2 player profiles that feature direct links to FACEIT accounts, all-time performance statistics, and achievements from the FACEIT Pro League. Additionally, users can now link their HLTV and FACEIT accounts to display specific ranks and badges, such as those for verified users, while gaining access to a dedicated trophy bar and top-five player rankings for the current competitive season.
This deal highlights the ongoing consolidation within the esports ecosystem. HLTV, which was acquired by the Danish sports betting media group Better Collective in 2020 for approximately €34.5 million, serves as a central hub for competitive Counter-Strike news and data. Conversely, the ESL FACEIT Group is owned by the Savvy Games Group, a gaming entity wholly controlled by the Saudi Arabian government’s Public Investment Fund. This partnership underscores the increasing influence of state-backed investment in global esports infrastructure and the growing trend of editorial outlets forming direct data-sharing alliances with the organizations they cover.
