hey guys it's Thomas so come on in let's jump inside of unity let's jump inside of Photoshop and let's make a beautiful snowy scene so I kind of want to use a grayish purple Vibe I I don't know it tastes like charcoal and Bubblegum with like a taste of fire crackle and that is what we want if you can taste and smell your colors you're on the right track you don't really know what your scene's going to look like you don't really know what you're going for you got your color palette and then you open unity and you feel kind of I don't know a little bit of panic a little bit of fright so just start clicking okay and so what I like to do is just put my terrain into the scene and start click click click click click just get clicking okay if you can get clicking you're going to be freaking sticking the landing okay so just get clicking and that's what I've done here and the terrain looks fine I guess
now what I'm going to do is also create a super simple gradient Sky Box I'm just going to open up Photoshop I'm going to ask chat gbt hey what's a good size for a Photoshop document for a panoramic Skybox and I'm just going to quickly create just a generic gradient with the Horizon a little bit lighter than the sky here once that's in once the Sky Box is in once you've tweaked your fog in the lighting settings then you can start to oh you can kind of find your way around see the truth is is that most artists now there are some out there that are brilliant and they can see everything in their brain most artists are like me and they don't quite know what they're making and so you just got to start putting things into the scene I love big fat tall long trees and so we're going to do that we're going to just create a cylinder and blender and we're just going to stretch it up to the sky and then we're going to start adding in super duper simple we're going to scale up the base and slowly sort of create this nice sort of cone shape the
key here the key here to any great especially stylized art when you're creating 3D stylized art and Blender make sure you're unwrapping this thing so freaking clean so that it feels like when you open it up in Photoshop you're coloring right your how how do you hold a crown like this this is how I used to hold a crown when I was a kid and you're coloring on that wrapping paper okay you want it to feel like you're coloring on wrapping paper now some of you are thinking well Thomas use substance no no I will not use substance I will not do this right I will do it wrong and the reason why is after 15 years of making games the happiest I am is when I'm doing things my way and when I'm doing it with my forte okay next we're going to move on to a small pine tree so we're going to take our Big Pine Tree we're going to shrink it down and this is so cool I'm going to take the rings on my pine tree and I'm going to strw them down and create this
sort of layers of cones and as long as I unwrap this properly and create the proper seams if I unwrap it properly I can bring it into Photoshop and actually draw out the pine tree shapes and texture it just a little bit so that it looks like actual pine needles on the trees I'm going to go ahead and animate these trees make them animate at different speeds with this simple script that randomizes the speed speed of the animation and so now they sort of blow in the Wind next to these giant pine trees next I'm going to design a super duper simple hyper simplistic hyper hyper diaper simp what hyper simplistic cabin and it's just going to have a simple white roof nothing crazy here I'm going to try and create a pop of color here so I've got this vibrant orangish red color and it's contrasting the low saturation [Music] purple finally I'm going to throw in some particle effects I'm going to paint
some terrain right I'm going to add a little bit of texture to the ground and the snow add a little bit of normal maps to the trees just to make it feel hand painted really quickly I want to create a very simplistic boy okay and I'm just going to extrude his legs down from this box shape extrude his arms I can't say that extrude his arms out I'm going to make a sphere for his head a sphere for his hoodie I'm going to make sure I unwrap his face but everything else is not going to be unwrapped and that way I can actually color color his face in again just like on wrapping paper color in a hyp simplistic face lay him in the snow and guys this is the final shot [Music] [Music] [Music]
