Zukowski VS Tyroller's Unreleased Review Guesser Game

All right. Uh, this is Jonas Tyrollers's uh, guesser review guesser. Basically, what you do is you look at a Steam page. You determine if uh, what the reviews are based off his three choices. Jonas Tyrell gave me an early copy of this. I'm beta testing it for him. We're going to try this now. Let me explain how this works. He added a new feature since his last video. See how up there? I can't reach up that high. My hand disappears. Anyway, it's right up there at the top. Um, there's something called raw and there's something called balanced. Okay, raw and balanced. Now, let me switch over. Let me explain how Steam works. You know how every every year people go 18,000 games are released, blah blah blah. Tears come down. I'll tell you how much how many tears you have to shed. Um, I in 2024 looked at all the games that released in 2024 and ranked them based on how many reviews they have. Look at this. It comes out. I wrote it down here. Uh let me check here. Uh I think it comes out

to like 78% earned under 50 reviews. The vast majority of Steam is just you'll know it when you see it. And what that means with Review Guesser is I and I tested this just before I got on this before I did this. I I tested this is what it looks like when you do the test. Um I I tested 10 games and I just chose the lowest rank like this one. This is nine. I'm gonna tell you right now, it's nine. You click nine. Ah, it's not. Okay. But this is real. This is live. I'm not fooling this anything. Um, what I did was if uh I just pick the lowest one every single time using raw, and it comes out to 70%. So, you'll get 70% correct if you just choose the lowest choice of reviews for every single thing because about 70% of steam is the lowest number. Now, technically this guy because he only had how many reviews did he have? 42. He's still in

that 78%. That's 78%. He's still in there. He's still in that that cate. He falls under that this blue this big blue wedge here. But anyway, so the optimal strategy would just be to choose nothing. just to choose the lowest number they give you. That's Jonas Ty Rollers's thing gives you. I'm not going to take that challenge. So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to try it real and we're going to see if we can get higher than 70%. Because if you just choose dumb, that's 70%. That's just wrong. But Jonas is a smart guy and he knew that was an issue. So, he added this thing called next balanced and basically he chooses it proportionally. Um, so the next random game isn't always a total proportion. He he picks I I don't remember the exact algorithm, but it's not going to be that. And I tried it and I did the same thing where I just dumbly blindly you can see it right there. I dumbly picked um the lowest one for balanced mode if you click next balanced. And I got 20% if you just

choose the low. So there's no there's no easy thing. So here's what I'm going to do for you live. Well live to you, not to me. It's recorded. I'm going to go through and I'm going to do raw and we're going to see if we can beat 70%. Okay, that's that's the thing. Now, we'll see. We'll see if we can do it. But here's the deal. Can I beat 70%. But I'm going to do a second video where I use this next balanced and see if I can beat 20%. Because then that's a true test of my ability to look at Steam pages. But along the way, it's not just me playing this game. I'm gonna give you tips on why I make this decision based on what's typically a problem with Steam pages. Okay? So, I hope you're following. Now, I'll give you a warning. The next balance, don't yell at me, is going to be behind a payw wall. And it's the lowest payw wall I could set. I I'm just testing something. Okay? So, so YouTube, let me just give you this story here. YouTube pulled out this feature called membership. I don't want it.

Okay? I don't want I just want to try it just to see. See, here's the deal. YouTube sucks, everybody. YouTube takes 30% of the dollar. So they if I turn this on, you subscribe to me, you get 30% of that thing. If I were to upload this video to my own site, I get to keep 90%. You see, this is why YouTube sucks because they take too much money. I can just I can just upload this video to my own site and say could buy it from me directly and I get that. But I'm not doing that. I I want to just test to see what how this YouTube thing is. I'm always just exploring algorithms, seeing how algorithms work. So I'm just testing it. And the the way to test it, I set it to the lowest YouTube would let me set it, which is a dollar. So, if you want to watch the other video for a dollar, I'm just going to do this for a month. I'm going to upload some some other premium stuff for a month, and it'll just cost you $1. I am not going to continue this. I'm just doing this as a test because YouTube takes 30%. That's I understand they're trying to make the money, but from you as a personal creator, YouTube sucks because you are

working for them, not yourself. Work for yourself. Okay? And so what if I were really to do this, if this were to take off, I would just upload it as a course. And actually, I'm running a summer sale. I'm running the Black Friday sale and you can buy that direct from me. I keep 90%. The rest is like credit card transaction fees and kind of stuff like that. That's what that 10% is. So the lesson here, folks, is build your own audience on your own platform, not on a platform owned by a big corporation. That's just the rules. Anyway, I'm blabbing. You know, they're trying to make their bucks. All right, so let's do this. Okay, we we already messed this one up. Okay, I'm gonna do the next raw. All right, Mr. Woodpecker. Okay, now let's see. The key things are, are there going to be sound effects in this trailer that we're looking at here, Mr. Woodpecker, while this is going through? Oh, I hear footsteps. And it is starting slow pan of the environment. So, that already neglect knocks me down a tier. But the art is pretty high quality. I know it's probably Cinty. It's looking low poly.

That looks very cinty. But the thing that's kind of upping me the next level is the font. The good font choice. Um, they did two sizes of fonts. Yes, it's all block caps, which is a bad sign, but they added a little magnifying glass, which shows a bit of confidence, so it's not going to be zero. Okay. Um, it is $54. That is uh that's bold. That is bold. Now, it's English only, which means if this game did well, they probably would have translated into other languages. And you should always translate because you get shown more widgets. There's nothing more about this game. Okay, I am now seeing this is probably a Cinti asset pack. And I'm not doing that bad. I'm just looking. Watch Steams. Okay, this new Steam browser thing when I just tab through it doesn't it just starts scrubbing. Okay, so what I'm looking Okay, that's at least green. What I'm looking for is is it the same environment over and

over again? Can I see that? Is that fireplace in there? That's what I'm I'm kind of detecting. Um, it is a couple environments. This looks like probably Cinti, some Cinti environment. Um, you play as a detective investigating empty hotel. You are close to solving the mystery of this hotel. Here's the thing is I'm not seeing action. I'm not seeing like really like what uh what I'm seeing here is I see the walking, but I don't see any gameplay. Yes, there's a person walking through it, but there should be at least like what what kind of mystery am I solving? It just tells me it's a mystery. Usually, you would see something pick up and rotate. I'm not even seeing that. So, I think this person actually has some pretty good design visuals, but the gameplay isn't there and they didn't do it. So, I'm going to I know it's the easy way out and it's very expensive. I'm going to say zero dollars. I'm going to say zero. Zero reviews because of the price. Let's see if I did it. That's it. That's how you play too. Now, don't don't think that that was awesome deduction. Remember, I got to beat 70%.

So, I'm going to keep track on my old thing. We're going to do 10 here. We're going to go through them and we're going to see if I get 70%. So, woodpecker. Yes. Okay. Got that one right. We're going to see if we can get to I'm doing the raw. If you want the balance, which is challenge mode, real test of my skills, uh you pop over to that lowest I could possibly do paid thing. Joy of flight. They did turn the O into an image which is a step above. So see how the capsule has joy of flight and the O is a planet with them like that's cute. That shows an ingenuity. I hear birds. I'm listening for sound effects. Very subtle. The sound mix is a little off. Okay. Here. Here. Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. All right. We're going to stop here. Okay. I'm thinking low. I'm just going to I'm going to kind of speedun this one because I it the mix was very low. Like the was very quiet which means they don't have sound mix things. And look at how many are those nuclear power coolers? They're just that reads asset

pack. If you see the same thing multiple times that tells me asset pack. And I'm going to quickly go through the screenshots. Is that an atom bomb going off? I don't know. Um let's keep going. at least someone showing some stuff like customize UI. But see how the stacks you see those those stacks there's like they're all the same and there's like six of them all there. I would expect a lot more difference and the way the mesh here is I don't know if it's called in 3D but the texture got stretched that shows a very lack of um understanding of like modeling. So you would normally model the rocks around it, but they just pulled the mesh up into a clean vertical there. And there it is again. There's those towers. So if you see the same asset, same skybox multiple times, dead giveaway uh thing. I'm going to go with the lowest. Boom. And that's how we geo guess. I mean review guess. Okay, so we're going on the next one. I got to write this one down. That is another win on my side. Whoa, the mix is a little loud on this

one. I'm going to turn this one down. Okay, we're starting with dialogue, which is not a good sign. And what we've got is made drone capsule here, which is vector with a basic text oneot. Uh, your job is to destroy as many enemy ships as possible with a giant laser, but it only fires one per day. Travel through galaxy destroying the rebel army one shot at a time. Okay, it looks kind of like an arcade game. And look, we got asset pack syndrome, I think, where see how the base is always the same thing. See, between these two, there's that gap. You see that U gap right there? I can't point because I think my arm disappears. Uh, you see that U gap right next to the laser cannon? It's the same one. That's asset pack syndrome where you've got one asset and just use it in all your screenshots. So, I hate to do it. I at least have a GIF. Uh, but that is given dead giveaway signs. This is we're going to go with the lowest option. How much is it? Sometimes if it's free, I might reconsider. that it's an arcade game and very simple arcade games where it's just

not like a good thing would be a roglike arcade game that actually could do okay where you do an arcade game but you add a whole rogike metal layer on top of it. I don't see it. And the fact that the trailer started with dialogue and this is a game about shooting a freaking laser. You should have the laser explode like it should start the trailer and then a laser shoots and something explodes. So the the misunderstanding of what's interesting in a game is usually endemic uh is usually s systematic it indicates indicative of somebody who is not quite doesn't have their game design chops down. I'm going to go lowest and that's how we play thing already batting a 100 here but uh that's still we haven't uh we haven't done a hard one now. This one's okay. I turned off nudity. Well, it's there. It just might pop up. Now, Jonah said in the next version he's going to add a skip thing, skip raw to this screen. I don't know what I'm gonna have to do if I see a little nudie. If you just see a hard cut, that's cuz I got a nudie one up.

I'm still going to guess it, but I'm not going to guess it live for you. Okay, so let's go. Uh, you'll just see me go and I'll be blushing. Uh, okay. So, let's go through. Okay, so first shot actually doing some some action here. Zombie Pandemia 2D. Now, I'd make that text a little bigger, and that's an early sign that somebody is not quite there. Um, saying I'm kind of feeling low. Uh, they put weird emojis in here.
2. Okay, that text right there looks kind of made my own text and and it's that that that's default uh sans serif like aerial. I'm not feeling I'm not feeling too confident. Okay. Uh okay. Oh, that UI is a little the the

texture in there that looks like a noise texture. If I see these kind of things I just that texture, that grass texture. Yeah, we're going to that grass texture right there. I'm I'm sorry. I'm going to give it a four. Let's see the price. It is free. Sometimes these will surprise you. The free ones with low quality. This is actually a challenge here. Okay, so now what I got to do is figure out and they did translate. Ooh, here's the real test. This is what's going to get me over the seven seven% here. If I can pull this one off. Okay, Christmas update. Now, when did this game come out? 20. Wait, this Okay, the fact that this person is doing a Christmas update means that it was worth it enough. And I'm sure they're doing some AI stuff. The fact that they did a Christmas update makes me think that it's not for I'm going to go 61 on this one. Now, here's

When you start with the main menu. Okay. So, folks, when you start with the main menu, that is just I I don't

You can just edit. You just put it in the editing software and just chop the the level select thing. I I'm sorry, but I'm just going It at least got to 10. They did get over the 10 hump. See, just the fact that there's Look, there's somebody in these clothes and there's somebody in a different set of clothes in a different character model already. I know we're not bottom of the barrel here. I'm seeing different character models for each one of these. And that in my mind is like, well, oh, multiple trailers. Okay, folks, buckle up. This one's going to be tricky. I I'm seeing some good stuff. Okay, a new Viking. Okay, we are now I'm locked in. A new Viking age comes down with it with you forge. You thrive in colony of colony colony sim colony sim alert. Okay. All right. This is a hot genre.

These colony sims, they'll either be like 194,000. I've never heard of this game. Although it's 2024 and I can't remember if I sell this one. I looked at every game that reached 1,000 reviews in 2024. I've done that. So, I may have seen this one. publisher Thunder. Full disclosure, I did some consulting for Thunder a couple years ago. Full cons good people over there. Their gifts have edges on them. Look at those gifts. They've got somebody added a masking on there. Okay. And Thunder did a good job of adding this thing. These are basic things, folks, but they show somebody gave a damn. All right. And we got full translations here. We're looking good. Okay. Okay, here's here's the deliberation I'm doing. I actually one of the things that kept me at at 49 on this one was see how the C has cat ears and it overlaps. That is a sign that somebody with a graphic design background did something here. was in charge of this. Whereas, if I see just block text flat, but they spiced, they basically slathered some Photoshop filters on it, that means non-professional. That's the secret, folks. Don't decorate your text. Modify it. Okay. And so, I'm thinking the guy trademarked it. There it looks like there's a trademark or a rights I Linux Epic. Wait, is this I see for set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Are you allowed to do that? Well, is this actually licensed Warhammer game? They put in the logo. Okay.

So, somebody with the 40k license did a text treatment like that. I mean, all right. So, it has a Game Workshop logo right in there. And this is actually looking I think they just have a bad capsule. Okay. So, we're in a new thing. Okay. You know what the most profitable um You know what the most profitable t Steam tag is? It's War Warhammer 40k. It is either that or Lego. I think if you just look at the averages, it's Warhammer and they got it right up front or or that that is by the stats the most profitable one. And but man, and there's no text is no longer available on the Steam store. There's a there's a story here that I am not aware of. 2013. It's been around for a while, man. There is a story here that I do not know. I mean, it it looks like tactical strategy. You can't buy it anymore. Back when everything was easy. I'm going to

go People always think this is the golden age, 2013. I'm going to go 400. I'm going to go 400. I my my thought is this organization somehow got the 40k cheap. Back in 2013, people were giving away uh the licenses a lot easier and just making QuickBooks on Steam if you had the license. I'm going 407. I'm going 407. If I'm wrong, it's going to be 2,000. That's my second guess, but I'm going 407 because back in 2013, weird stuff would happen. See, how's the translation? Everything's translated. Okay. Warhammer's bringing the day, but I'm seeing some red flags that make me think that underperformed. And I've seen some 40k games that released recently that earned under a thousand reviews. So, if it's not 407, it's going to be 2,000. So, I'm going Okay, I got it wrong. I got it wrong. Sorry. So, that's an X. This is the last one. We're gonna see. I think I'm on the

I'm not entirely sure if this is I don't see anything explicit right off the bat, but there could be some small screenshot and if you zoom in I could get demonetized and and Steam would take away or YouTube would take
