Gamecity Hamburg facilitates regional industry growth by offering five free exhibition spots to Hamburg-based developers at the 2024 gamescom Indie Arena Booth. This initiative aims to provide local indie studios and teams with a platform to showcase their projects at the world's largest shared developer booth, thereby increasing their visibility to press, publishers, and the global gaming community.
The program provides comprehensive support for selected participants, including exhibitor passes, USK clearing, inclusion in the Indie Arena Booth’s official lineup and sales event, and a dedicated media package. Additionally, participants gain access to a preparatory workshop day designed to refine their presentation skills ahead of the event, which takes place from August 21 to 25, 2024.
Eligibility is restricted to commercially oriented game companies with headquarters or branch offices in Hamburg. Applicants must possess a playable version of their game, with priority given to projects currently without a publisher. A jury evaluates submissions based on criteria aligned with the Indie Arena Booth’s standards. Interested parties must submit their applications via the Indie Arena Booth registration portal by the April 28 deadline, ensuring they explicitly identify their participation in the Gamecity Hamburg program within the required fields. This effort underscores a broader regional commitment to fostering local talent and strengthening the Hamburg games industry’s presence at major international trade events.
