Riot Games has unveiled the structural framework for the 2025 Valorant Champions Tour (VCT), signaling a significant expansion of its global competitive ecosystem. The upcoming season features a revamped calendar that extends through October, incorporating a larger pool of teams and a refined qualification process designed to increase competitive stakes across four major regional leagues: EMEA, Pacific, CN, and Americas.
The 2025 season will involve 48 teams competing globally across three primary international events. The schedule commences in January with regional Kickoff events, followed by Masters Bangkok in February and March, and Masters Toronto in June. The season concludes with the Champions Paris tournament, running from September 12 to October 5. Each regional league will maintain a 12-team structure, utilizing a double-elimination format for initial competitions to determine participants for the global Masters events.
A central component of the 2025 update is the implementation of a revised Championship Points system. This mechanism now awards points at every stage and global event, providing a more consistent pathway for teams to qualify for the season-ending Champions tournament. By integrating performance metrics across the entire year, the new system aims to reward sustained excellence. These changes reflect a strategic effort to standardize the competitive experience for professional teams while providing a clear, high-stakes roadmap for fans and stakeholders throughout the extended 2025 calendar.
