The net loss for fiscal 2026/3 was about ¥5.8 billion, driven by a ¥54.6 billion impairment charge.
SEGA SAMMY Group's Integrated Report 2026 presents a company in transition after its first net loss in eleven years for fiscal year 2026/3. The report's central message is that impairment losses on the Rovio and Stakelogic acquisitions, together with weak sales capability in Full Game titles and underperforming new free-to-play releases, pushed the Group below its medium-term plan targets. Consolidated net sales rose 13.7% to ¥487.5 billion, yet operating income slipped to ¥47.1 billion and the Group recorded a net loss of about ¥5.8 billion, driven by a ¥54.6 billion impairment charge. ROE turned negative at -1.6%, and the forecast for fiscal 2026/3 onward implies that the three-year cumulative adjusted EBITDA and average ROE targets will be missed.
In response, management has suspended large-scale M&A, cut strategic investment from over ¥80.0 billion to ¥20.0 billion, repurchased about ¥20.0 billion of treasury stock, and shifted resources toward Full Game titles and Transmedia IP such as Sonic, Persona, Like a Dragon and Angry Birds, while lowering the priority of GaaS. The Pachislot & Pachinko Machines business is the stable cash generator, with sales and profit rising for a second consecutive year, and it is expected to bottom out, funding growth in Entertainment Contents and Gaming. Gaming, which absorbed the GAN and Stakelogic acquisitions, is targeted to reach ordinary-income profitability by fiscal 2027/3.
The report also covers the Group's capital efficiency concerns, noting a P/B ratio of about 1.2x against a peer average of roughly 4.8x, alongside governance reforms, a human capital framework, and emissions targets including carbon neutrality by 2050. The scope spans the group's global operations across Japan, North America, Europe and emerging online gaming markets.
