CD PROJEKT Group maintained strong financial momentum during the third quarter of 2016, driven primarily by the sustained commercial success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and its associated expansion packs, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Despite the title being available for over eighteen months, it continued to attract a significant player base, reinforcing the company's revenue streams. For the third quarter, the group reported 100.9 million PLN in sales revenues and a net profit of 36.6 million PLN. Cumulative results for the first nine months of 2016 reached 419.8 million PLN in sales and 171.2 million PLN in net profit.
The company’s robust liquidity, evidenced by 158 million PLN in positive cash flows generated since the start of the year, provided the necessary capital to fund ongoing research and development. During the first three quarters of 2016, 41 million PLN was allocated toward future projects. This financial stability allowed the studio to prioritize the development of two major titles: Cyberpunk 2077 and GWENT: The Witcher Card Game.
Operational focus during the third quarter shifted toward preparing for the closed beta launch of GWENT: The Witcher Card Game, which commenced in late October. Management emphasized a commitment to refining the quality of this title to ensure long-term player engagement. By leveraging the continued profitability of its established intellectual property, the group successfully balanced immediate financial performance with the strategic investment required to support its upcoming product pipeline and long-term growth objectives.
