CD PROJEKT concluded the 2018 fiscal year with strong financial performance, driven primarily by the sustained commercial success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the expansion of the GWENT franchise. The company reported 363 million PLN in annual revenues and 109 million PLN in net profit. These results contributed to a significant milestone, as the group’s balance sheet total and equity surpassed the 1 billion PLN threshold for the first time in its history.
The year was defined by a strategic focus on intensive research and development, with nearly 100 million PLN invested in new technologies and game production. This brought the cumulative R&D expenditure to over 250 million PLN by year-end. To support these efforts, the company significantly expanded its creative capacity by growing its Warsaw and Kraków studios, integrating a new team in Wrocław, and establishing Spokko to focus on mobile gaming projects.
Operational activities during 2018 centered on the development and marketing of Cyberpunk 2077 and the GOG.com platform. Cyberpunk 2077 gained substantial global visibility through high-profile presentations at E3 and gamescom, reaching an audience of over 2800 industry participants and generating 50 million views on promotional video content. Simultaneously, the company secured international distribution agreements across North America and Europe to prepare for the title's future launch. Meanwhile, the GOG.com digital storefront celebrated its tenth anniversary, expanding its library to over 2700 titles and securing partnerships to distribute classic Blizzard Entertainment games. These efforts reflect a broader commitment to long-term intellectual property development and global market reach.
