CD Projekt
The first half of 2015 marked a period of unprecedented financial and operational success for the CD Projekt Capital Group, primarily catalyzed by the global launch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Within six weeks of its May release, the title sold over 6 million copies, propelling the company to record-breaking financial results. Consolidated revenues reached 512.6 million PLN, while net profit surged to 236.3 million PLN, a dramatic increase from the 4.7 million PLN reported during the same period in 2014. This performance bolstered the company’s liquidity, resulting in 164.2 million PLN in cash assets and a debt-free balance sheet, which provided the necessary capital to continue funding the development of Cyberpunk 2077.
Beyond game development, the GOG.com digital distribution platform played a pivotal role in this growth. The successful rollout of the GOG Galaxy client and the introduction of localized storefronts expanded the company’s international reach and streamlined the digital distribution of its flagship title. This dual-segment strategy—combining high-end software production with a proprietary distribution ecosystem—remains the core driver of the group’s commercial viability and market positioning.
Despite these gains, the group maintains a cautious outlook, acknowledging a complex risk landscape that includes macroeconomic instability, currency volatility, and intense industry competition. Operational challenges such as development delays, platform certification requirements, and the threat of illegal product distribution are addressed through a robust risk management framework. This includes active liquidity management, financial hedging, and the use of long-term incentive programs. Furthermore, the company continues to navigate legal complexities, including ongoing litigation regarding historical tax liabilities, while managing the influence of its primary shareholders to ensure alignment with broader corporate interests.
