Applications for Games Germany Steam Sale 2026

Games Germany, the association of German game funding and networking institutions, has opened applications for its 2026 summer Steam Sale, announced by Gamecity Hamburg on March 2, 2026. The initiative is open to developers, studios, and publishers headquartered in Germany, and its purpose is to showcase the breadth of German-made games while supporting their sales. Applications for both the sale and an accompanying showcase close on March 31, 2026, at 11:59 pm, and are submitted through separate online forms that contain the participation terms.

Since 2022, each edition of the Steam Sale has featured up to 360 games, and a similarly wide range of German titles is expected this year. The sale is positioned as a recurring, established format, with the most recent edition being the fourth in the series.

The showcase component adds visibility beyond the sale itself. Run with national and international media partners across Steam, YouTube, and Twitch, it will include exclusive premieres, updates, announcements, and gameplay trailers. Companies and studios must apply for it separately from the sale, though under the same deadline.

Games Germany, formally Games Germany – Regional Funds and Networks, provides information on funding, financing, development and production conditions, and publishing in Germany. It also supports the German games industry's presence at major national and international trade fairs. Its model is based on Focus Germany, the umbrella organization of the eight state film funding agencies in Germany.
