People Can Fly Group
The 2022 financial results for PCF Group S.A. (People Can Fly) reflect a period of operational transition and strategic investment. The company reported annual revenue of 171.5 million PLN, a decrease from the 180.3 million PLN recorded in 2021. This decline is primarily attributed to the conclusion of a development partnership with Take-Two Interactive Software. Consequently, the group’s EBITDA fell to 48.2 million PLN, down from 73.2 million PLN in the previous year, while adjusted EBITDA stood at 49.7 million PLN. Net profit for the year was 22.0 million PLN.
Despite the revenue contraction, the company significantly expanded its internal capacity, growing its workforce to 612 employees by the end of 2022, with a presence spanning Poland, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The balance sheet shows a notable increase in work-in-progress assets, rising to 112.7 million PLN, which underscores a strategic shift toward self-publishing and the internal development of proprietary intellectual property.
The company’s current portfolio strategy involves seven active projects, including four core titles and three supplementary projects. These initiatives are divided between work-for-hire contracts and self-published titles, with release windows for the primary pipeline projected between 2025 and 2026. The group continues to invest in its proprietary PCF Framework engine and maintains a dedicated studio for VR development. These efforts are intended to transition the business model from a service-oriented development house to a self-publishing entity, supported by a robust, multi-year development roadmap.
