Nihon Falcom
Nihon Falcom’s financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending September 2025 reflect a significant contraction in performance compared to the same period in the previous year. The company, which operates as a single-segment entity focused on game development and sales, reported a net sales figure of 604 million yen, representing a 40.3% year-over-year decline. Profitability metrics saw even sharper decreases, with operating profit falling 85.4% to 73 million yen and intermediate net profit dropping 87.6% to 44 million yen.
The decline in revenue is primarily attributed to underperformance across both core business divisions. The product division, which includes physical game sales and merchandise, generated 123 million yen, an 8.3% decrease. The license division, responsible for international distribution and multi-platform releases, experienced a more pronounced downturn, with sales falling 45.2% to 481 million yen. Despite these results, the company maintains a strong financial position, reporting total assets of 10.37 billion yen and a high equity ratio of 96.5%.
Looking ahead, the company has maintained its full-year earnings forecast, anticipating a total annual revenue of 2.5 billion yen. Management notes that the second half of the fiscal year is expected to carry a higher weight in overall performance, driven by a robust release schedule. Upcoming initiatives include the launch of several titles across the PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms, as well as continued investment in new intellectual property and game development. The company remains committed to its strategy of expanding its global reach through diverse platform support and localized releases.
