CD Projekt
During the first half of 2017, the CD PROJEKT Capital Group demonstrated robust financial health and operational expansion, anchored by a two-franchise business model centered on the Witcher series and the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077. The group achieved a consolidated net profit of 118.6 million PLN on 254.8 million PLN in sales revenues. While total revenue saw a 20.1% decline compared to the same period in 2016—largely due to the absence of a major Witcher expansion release—the company maintained a strong balance sheet with 582.7 million PLN in cash and financial assets and zero outstanding debt.
The group’s growth strategy focused on scaling its digital ecosystem and international presence. The GOG.com platform reached record sales, significantly bolstered by the public beta launch and monetization of GWENT: The Witcher Card Game. To support this global trajectory, the company established a new subsidiary in Shanghai to penetrate the Chinese market and expanded its reach into Brazil and Japan. Operational efforts were further supported by the integration of the GOG Galaxy client and the launch of the GWENT Masters e-sports circuit, which helped solidify the brand’s long-term engagement strategy.
Investment priorities remained heavily weighted toward future development, with 96.9 million PLN allocated to ongoing projects, primarily Cyberpunk 2077 and GWENT. Despite navigating complex legal proceedings and distributing a 100.9 million PLN dividend, the company’s market capitalization surged to 8.3 billion PLN, reflecting a 213% year-over-year increase in stock value. By maintaining full creative and financial control over its development and distribution segments, the group continues to prioritize long-term intellectual property development and platform-based monetization to mitigate operational risks and ensure sustained profitability.
