Blizzard Entertainment has announced the structure, scheduling, and prize pools for Season Three of its competitive World of Warcraft esports circuit, focusing on the Mythic Dungeon International (MDI) and the Arena World Championship (AWC). These tournaments utilize the latest iteration of the franchise, World of Warcraft: The War Within, which launched in August 2024. The initiative aims to provide a global platform for top-tier players to compete for significant financial rewards.
The Mythic Dungeon International begins with time trials on October 1, 2025, advancing 18 teams into a group stage. This phase consists of four groups of six teams, each competing for a $30,000 prize pool. The top eight teams will then progress to a Global Finals in late November, where they will vie for a $300,000 prize pool. Simultaneously, the Arena World Championship will feature three qualification cups for teams in Europe and North America. The top performers from these cups will advance to the War Within Finals, while a secondary "Gauntlet" event will determine the final qualifying spot, offering a $20,000 prize pool for that specific stage. The overall Grand Finals for the AWC feature a $200,000 prize pool.
These events represent a continued commitment by Blizzard, a division of Microsoft-owned Activision Blizzard, to maintain a high-stakes competitive ecosystem for its long-running MMORPG. By providing clear pathways for qualification and substantial six-figure prize pools, the developer seeks to sustain professional engagement within the title. Interested participants can register for both competitions through the official World of Warcraft esports portal and the Raider.IO platform.
