Hello premium members. Uh Chris Sukowski here, your premium service for you because you subscribe to YouTube membership for me. Now I think I missed the deadline. This is probably going to be the last video and then I am going to end the membership. I don't know. And speaking of which, I'm wearing my membership hat. You see stupid so stupid. Like, okay, once you become YouTube Premium, they keep doing these things where they're like, "Oh, if you just do this challenge, you will give you some swag." And let me tell you, the other creators go nuts for the stupid swag that like, and one of the things, like if I created a membership, I get this stupid hat. And I was like, "What do I get?" I'm not doing. But so many people will go crazy and spend hours like doing stuff for YouTube so they can get like a $5 trinket. Okay, people's priorities are just totally warped about the hours they will spend
for not a lot of benefits. But why am I complaining about this stuff? I'm trying to keep this positive. I'm doing this for you so you kind of know behind the scenes. I'm doing some more reviews. Let me let me get a drink here. All right. I'm doing Steam page reviews. Let's take a look here. I'm going to do 10. I gota I got to move this along though because I've got a um I got I got to make dinner. Um All right. So, we got Bobby Adventure. Bobby Adventure. Okay. So, first off, it's a platformer. No trailer. And that that capsule looks pretty AI. AI always has that single point of um perspective, single point perspective where everything goes back to that single point up there. It just it looks the art actually looks cool like somebody I mean it's probably an asset pack but somebody's got some sort of vision like it's cohesive but
notice it's all orange background. I'm voting as low as P. What is it price? Um, the lowest is 24, which is actually pretty good for them. So, I'd actually consider, if I was that dev, I'd consider that a win. Let's move on. Next balance. So, I got that one. I got it, Bobby. Okay. Oh, we went naughty. If this uh blurs out, it's because this is actually naughty. I didn't turn off my naughty settings. So, Oh, Saints Row. Oh gosh. Okay, here's the deal with these AAA. I always hate guessing this cuz it's like did it make 30,000 reviews or 59 100,000 reviews? I don't know. And there's no lesson you as an indie dev can do that. So, Saints Row. Let's see. What do we got? It's either 57 or 286. I'm going Well, no. My bet is it's either 57 or 11,000. I think the Saint row has been on the down side. I on the down low like it's
been decreasing. I'm going with 11,000. I'm going to do 11,000. I knew it was 11 or 57. See, it doesn't matter. It's not like, oh, because you uh did your capsule this way, you're going to get 57. It has to do with whatever AAA politics are going on, like, oh, did they get us feature on the Super Bowl or something? So, I don't know. I hate doing these AAA games because they don't they don't teach you anything that you all need to know. All right, this looks like a good one. Okay, let's see who's All right, we got a developer. We got a demo. Oh, it's a Warhammer property. Warhammer's a little hard because they licensed their stuff out when this game come out 2021. Okay, so here's the deal. Flying shooting games like this just don't do well. They just don't do well on Steam. these kind of like Star Fox type games. They just they're more they're better for consoles than they are Steam. And so we've got these.
Okay. But then the other thing I'm worried I mean this looks great. This game's fantastic. Uh very good graphics. And so my my debate is how much are they getting hurt by the fact they've got this genre that doesn't do well on Steam. And how much are they being helped because they have a 40k uh license and they this is a very competent looking game. Um, so I let's see here. Let's let's take a look. I'm just gonna I I mean all the I look at these screenshots. I'm going to be like, great. They all look great. There's nothing I'm going to find here. The main thing I'm trying to figure out is what are the numbers? It's not that. It's not that. So, we're I'm either going 1,982 or 9,000. I think those are my two that I'm playing with. DACA Squadron. Okay. See, there's nothing really here. It's all down to and there was no other. They did good with their um tagging because I see some other Warhammer stuff. The Warhammer tag that
is such a valuable tag. Warhammer and Batman I think are the two highest median revenue per tag. I believe I'm going with a thousand three. Did I not say that Steam does not like flying games? I told you it was going to underperform and it didn't. I I was giving it the benefit of the doubt because this game looks good. And I'm telling you folks, these games like Star Fox or games that do well on consoles that are very arcade, very Twitch reactive just underperform on Steam. That's what I'm going for. So, man, I was being optimistic. It was on the low side. All right, let's do the next balanced one. Infrared. I'm I'm guessing low on this one here. This is looking really low. Now, now the thing that I'm trying to figure out is is this somebody who actually has an MFA and it's intentionally bad. I'm going no because they have nothing here. Typically, an MFA person will do something fancy here
because they just can't help themselves even though they're trying to go underground looking art, which this it kind of looks cool. I could see this totally being done by somebody with MFA skills. Let's just see this. They're using the VHS font. Um I the thing that I'm trying to figure out I mean it is a horror game and it's lowfi. I'm just trying to figure out if this is actually secretly somebody who's competent or somebody who's somebody who's competent in intentionally making it look lowfi or somebody who's just lowfi because this is the best they can do. You find yourself lost in the middle of nowhere. The only way to leave is to fuel up your car. But to do so, you'll have to venture into this desolate forest to find a way to unlock the gas station. But every bit of flesh in your body screams that you are not alone. That last sentence is a little weird, but I actually thought that short description is actually pretty good. I I got to give this person uh the benefit. Oo, and it's free to play. Uh free to play is hard because
that that that's an upward trajectory. So, what I'm doing is I'm looking at forces that make the game better than it looks and games that push it down. freetoplay is going to give it more reviews and its horror is giving it up and the short description is actually pretty good. It could be AI generated but the capsule in the general art is down and the the amount that they've added stuff here the the one language the only four achievements are downward force. I'm going it's going to be either 98 or 490. I'm gonna give this person the benefit of the doubt because they had a pretty good well-written short description and they have a trailer. I'm going 490 90. God damn. Infrared. Infra. I like the reason I like the short description is because it kind of actually describes it sets the vibe. It's like here's the vibe and it's setting the scene. It makes you kind of feel like you're playing the game before you're actually playing. That's what I like
about it. All right, let's do the next balanced finish army simulator. Okay, this one is definitely low. There's just something about like the guy's eyes are just like um Okay, I am going I'm going low on this one. I like the comb thing. Yeah, it's the repeating textures. That's what always gets me. It's It's You can see the repeating texture. It's what always does it. It's the lighting. It's the lighting and that stuff. It sounds like a good idea. Like I think if you went military sim on this stuff, they actually Look at that. Um, they actually have stuff in there. Let's just see what this is all about. I'm guessing low. Like I'm guessing one. Oh yeah. For $29, I'm guessing one review. Um, let your service just like you remember it or you don't. You'll feel like you do. I'm going one.
What the heck? That's why I like Steam. Sometimes a curve plug gets thrown at you. Oh man. Okay. Military stuff. If you go hardcore military, it actually does pretty well. It overperforms. It's like what I say. I'm looking at upward trajectory. Man, this is weird. Um, I got to look into this army simulator. It could be the Finnish government just buys a copy for every soldier that comes in. Maybe this is made by the Finnish uh army. Who knows? Your Finnish tax dollars are going to this. No Way Home. Um, okay. I'm trying to look at it. Looks very good. Very competent art. Very competent art. Looks great. Um, that looks cool. Very good art. Good UI. Everything's cool looking. Here's the one thing. Let's see what kind of the the meta can go any which way. It could be a rog like rogue light. Twin stick
shooter. Okay. Twin stick shooter very underperforms. And the fact that it's looter shooter is good. Looter shooter is pushing up. Twin sticks down. Standing in the strange galaxy. You must fight or survive. You're only with your wits. Your ship and your party planning robot communion. Maybe H. See, the thing is if it's a a pure asteroids like where all you're doing is just shooting like twin stick shooter, those underperform, but if it's deep and simulationy, those do better. And I'm just looking at how the game play. See, this is actually the Steam page doesn't tell me which way it goes. This alo also could be a Metroid Vania where it's like, you know, you explore a pre-made world or it could be um rogue light where it's randomly generated and you have all these upgrades. Um, I'm thinking it's more Metroid Vania style. Let's look at the tags to see if it's Metroid Vania. Or it could be straight up Asteroids. I don't see any rogue stuff. So, I'm
thinking there's no rogue abilities. And I'm thinking this is Metroid Vania. I don't see any Metroid Vania. So, I'm thinking this is straight up arcade. Um, Super Mega Games bundle. This means it's been from a developer. And this developer is competent. And I've seen some of these and it and the graphics are good. Really good. I just think that pure twin stick shooter often underperforms. Looks run based. A rich story mode set in a huge universe. Voice acting. Voice. See lots in there. Weapons to loot and craft. I mean, it's definitely there, but art is competent. I just think it's a bad genre. SMG Studios, they make Lego games. Okay, so I think the baseline is going to be a little high. What's the
cost? 10 bucks. Um, when it come out 20 came out came out in June. Um, my heart is saying 269 because I just think this genre underperforms, but the competency of the art and all the other stuff says 134 1,343. Do I trust my gut in do I trust genre or design competency? I'm going genre. I'm going to go 692 269. I knew it underperformed, but I didn't expect it to underperform that much. Twin stick shooters. They just they just underperform. I I just I'm sorry. I It's just so Look at how much
awesomeness is here. That looks great. Everything there is competent. It's just genre matters, folks. genre matters, man. No way home. Okay. Twin stick shooters are just death unless you make it super deep rogue like. And because I didn't see the tag there, it wouldn't be. Now, if it was Metroid Vania, kind of a similar story that it would underperform. If it was Metroid Vania and they didn't say so much random stuff, I would say it would also underperform, but closer to the 269. But, okay, let's go. Oh, yeah. This one's looking low. We got the all caps, heavily decorated font. Um, it says preview in the trailer. 2020 free to play. Yeah, I'm going low. It's free to play, so I'm still going to say 21. 120. Okay. I was almost thinking
121. That's the That's the boost from free. They at least gave it a shot. But yeah, it's it's the text. The all caps overly decorated text. I got one right. Okay, let's go next. Overcooked. I Overcooked's good. The question is how good. Okay, we're at number eight. All right. Overcooked. This is the 2021 version. The question is if it's 23,000 or 119 119,000. It's a remaster. It's not a new one. It's a remaster of the originals. That kind of underperforms a little bit. I'm thinking cuz I don't think that's
always as motivating. Yeah. I mean, Team 17 is good. They do all good stuff. I'm going because of the remaster. I'm going 4,000. I just don't think remasters sell as well. Let's see what happens here. Huja Boa. Yep. Overcooked. I mean, 4,000 is fantastic, but overall the Overcooked franchise, I would, if this wasn't a remaster or something, I would have gone 119,000. But because it's a remaster and stuff, it's going to underperform, which is fine. It's like free money. Like really, a remaster, don't look down on just making if it's just like you just updated a couple textures or you ran some stuff, did some dev interviews, and you got 4,000 reviews, good on you. It's not a bad thing that Overcooked underperformed with their remaster. So, good on them. Okay, we got two more. I got two, right? Um, ice fairy. To who? Hero of the ice fairy.
To who? From love. Okay. Yeah, this is looking kind of low. To who of the ice fairy is an indie game developed by Game Pole. Step into the chains of ke Oh, I think I've seen this one. This one does well. This one did well in my analysis. Yep, I saw this last year. This one is surprisingly performant. It does very well even though it looks like it shouldn't. It's 2D platformer shooter. Are they even twin stick shooter? This one actually does well. Bullet hell. Bullet hell doesn't normally do well. I'm thinking 6,000. I think it's either 6,000 or 1,000. I'm going 6,000. I think it overperformed. I think it's 6,000. Boom. I know my stuff. I know my stuff, folks. I know it. I know it. This one under overperformed what it should. I don't know why I didn't look into it. I just I do my scrape analysis where I look at every game that released and got over a thousand reviews. I saw this in that in that 1000 and I just know. I know. I don't know why. I don't have any analy.
Um I don't know if they're just a famous I they just do stuff a lot. This looks kind of porny a little bit, but um famous dev probably really well serving the Chinese market. Again, it's that secret China thing where it's like this is like the uh the ice fairy legend is what every parent tells their child. So, it's got this cultural history like every kid knows the story of protecting the ice fairy. Oh, cookie clicker. All right, this is the big guns here. This is going to be a bazillion reviews. This is the OG. I'm going 80,000. I'm just going to go 80,000. Let's do it. Yep. Let's go. 80,000. So, I actually did pretty well today. I was doing a little soft. Um, I got four out of six. I got four right, six wrong. Did pretty good. Like I said, I got to cut this one short. I got a lot to do. I feel like I was pretty good. This was a
good one. I was confident. And I I I correctly identified which one's underperformed. Like I knew Warhammer was going to underperform cuz it's one of those shooters like in general folks, arcade games, console heavy genres just underperformed. Twin stick shooter underperformed. I called that one that I didn't know how much it underperformed. That was um uh No Way Home. I knew that one was going to underperform. I knew Warhammer would underperform. I did not predict the big surprises was the Finnish army. Again, that could be some weird cultural thing. Maybe Finland is supporting this dev and just buying copies by the Finnish government. And I mean, I did know it, but um over uh this one or uh the previous one to who I would have only guessed that one because I knew it because I've studied all of Steam.
with that with me dropping my pen. Thank you so much for being a a supporter. I do this for you. I dress up. I wear the silly hats for you. Goodbye. Have a great day. Uh comment below, but it doesn't matter. I'm probably going to end these um paid for streams. It's It's not worth it. It's not worth it. I don't know. See you. Bye.
