Create free accountour game Throne fall is out on Steam and this is a quick three-part announcement in this video we got me talking to the camera we got the trailer and we got a bunch of tips and tricks to get you started in the game this is uh victory dance cause Throne fall is out right now this very second the game I've spent a year working on together with Paul has released into Early Access and you can click the link in the description to go play it right now it's fairly cheap seven bucks I don't really like making these little announcement videos I I think there should only be more epic content on my channel but you know I had to make something and I did not have time for more a lot of you were seemingly worried that if I only make these little tiny announcements on my channel maybe not enough people see it and I'm very grateful for those concerns I can assure you that I think my channel is not really making that big of a splash for this game the wishlist numbers went kind of insane so we have like 10 times the number of wish lists we had for William snail which kind of Bonkers but that also
means it doesn't really matter what I do on this channel here kind of you know just a friendly little announcement for you guys which is which is very nice because that means we can focus on the nerd truck here I can just talk to my audience I don't have to worry about this appealing this video appealing to huge audiences who cares there's a little announcement and it's for you oh that was my elbow um there's not that much I want to say except thanks a lot for coming along thanks a lot for joining us on this journey the next death lock is of course coming soon uh play the game and if you enjoy the game it would be very very cool if you could leave a review that helps a lot because that helps other people to see if that's something they would enjoy or if it's something they would not enjoy that's something we're trying to be very upfront about because not every game is for everybody right so if you can help us with making sure the correct people play our game that would be excellent yeah I sure hope you enjoy it and with that I
would say I'll just roll the trailer and get back to work because I'm literally recording this on release day and there's quite a bit more stuff to do this is thrownfall our minimalist came about building and Defending Your Little Kingdom my name is Jonas and one half of grizzly games and in this video I'll give you a quick overview of what to expect from the game with roundfall we took everything we love about classic strategy games and tried to condense it down onto the most accessible form during the day you ride around on your little horse developing your kingdom and deciding what to spend your heart around the gold on constructing buildings in thronefall is incredibly simple right up to a build spot to see what you can build there and how much it'll cost you hold the build button to construct the building evoila you have a mill which gives you some income every morning now the important part is to strike the correct balance between economy and defense because once you finish building night sets in and waves of enemies will attack your kingdom if the enemies destroy your Castle Center the game is lost however when you manage to fight
off the attackers all economy buildings that survived the night will reward you with some gold in the morning think carefully about what your kingdom needs next a new Mill walls defense Towers or maybe some archers throttle is very easy to pick up yet it can get surprisingly deep when you're trying to master the game you can choose between different building upgrades and units command your army or even head into battle yourself allowing for a huge variety of strategies and over time you will unblock new weapons and perks that allow you to further customize your playstyle beware that throneful is still in Early Access and offers a rather small experience at the moment after playing through the handful of levels that are currently available you can of course still try to optimize your strategy further and Chase high scores for hours on end there's new content on its way already and if you'd like to stay up to date with the development of thronefall we'd be happy to welcome you on our Discord server you can always find a summary of the content thrownfall currently has to offer at the very top of our steam page as well please also keep in mind that we're just two people over here at Grizzly games so even in the future throneful will always stay a
bite-sized middle game rather than becoming your next massive RTS thrawnfall is our attempt at condensing what we love about strategy games into a well-polished but small package so you'll be able to see your kingdom rise to glory and still be done in time for lunch if that sounds fun to you we hope you'll have a good time with thronefile [Music] and last but not least as promised I have a couple of tips for you first of all if you press alt on the keyboard you get a little overview of all of the buildings you can build at the moment that way you don't have to ride up to everything you can just see what you can build so that is a very useful hotkey on on the controller that's the left shoulder button at the top and the reason why I'm explaining a couple of these things is because we haven't managed to put all of them in the tutorial yet that will follow shortly after till then hopefully you can help us carry this knowledge into the community there are a couple of more things that you might miss in the tutorial one thing is that you can put your units on hold position right
when they're on hold position they're not gonna move no matter what you do so if you don't want them to run around aimlessly and for example if you want just want your archers to stay in a certain place for example let's say I want my arches to shoot up this or shoot down this Cliff here then I can just put them on hold position here uh yeah how do you put them on hold position that's a great question well obviously you command your units by holding the x button you can keep that button pressed that is another important thing that I've already seen a couple of people Miss where they're like oh my God selecting units is so annoying I have to first I have to bring them to the same spot and then then I can control them together whereas no that's not really how it works right you can just write over all of them select all of them and then once you've got them selected you can put them wherever you want to and if you want them to hold position then what you do is when when you place them you just hold the command button for a bit longer and then they're in hold position and
these three here do not show their circles properly but that's I assume that's a visual glitch they were definitely in hold position there we go another important thing that I find very useful that we don't teach in the tutorial is there's a toggle sprint button so if you're getting tired of constantly holding down the sprint button on the keyboard it's I think the tap button and on the controller it's the top right shoulder button which just toggles sprinting on and off which that way you don't have to constantly keep the sprint button pressed which is especially useful on large Maps like this one here there's a gameplay setting that is good to know about because some people were bothered by that that's why we put that in here which is reset unit formation every morning so by default all of your units will return to their original position every morning one reason why that is you why that is useful is because it makes it easier to sort units as you can see sorting units like this is kind of annoying let's say I want to collect all
of the Spears and I guess it's kind of okay but it's a little bit annoying and tedious especially if you have more units however not everybody enjoys this feature so you can turn it off if you just want units to stay wherever you put them your Loadout is shown in the menu now so for some reason you forget which Loadout you brought into battle then you can check here and you have tool tips and everything so that already came in handy for me quite a few times as for strategies and so on I think it's probably best if you figure it out yourself one thing I will say about balancing because I've occasionally seen people complain about balancing already is that the game is not balanced around one individual level right one unit type might be extremely overpowered in one level but that is fine as long as it's um not as overpowered than other levels so everything is situational something's very strong in one level other stuff is not so strong in certain levels in case you find anything that is strong in
every level then that is indeed a problem that we gotta fix and I don't expect the balancing to be perfect already so if you find anything that like any crazy Superior strategy that always smashes all of the other strategies no matter what level you play then that's something I would definitely be interested in and have a look at but if you're like oh my God Spears are completely overpowered and broken in this level that's that's not really something I care about because yeah they're good in this level but maybe not so much in other levels if you know what I mean so figure out what strategies work find your builds there are some crazy crazy challenges let me show you yeah he's in the bottom right we got some quests I'm not sure if maybe those are a little too extreme but we'll see we'll see maybe maybe you'll be able to crack it maybe you'll be able to figure it out what's gonna happen from here uh Poland I are gonna take it a little bit chill because we crunched quite
heavily before launch and we need a little bit of a break but as soon as that's over with we'll obviously just start making new content because we're pretty happy with the state the game is in main thing it's missing is just more content more levels so that's what's next and obviously I'll keep you posted on all of that and with all of that of the way I hope you enjoy and I'll see you in the next one take care [Music] good [Music]
Thronefall, a minimalist medieval base defense game developed by Grizzly Games, has officially launched into Early Access on Steam. The primary objective of the title is to distill the core mechanics of classic real-time strategy games into a highly accessible, bite-sized experience. Players manage a kingdom by balancing economic development—such as constructing mills for income—with defensive fortifications and unit management to survive nightly enemy waves. The game features a variety of unlockable weapons, perks, and strategic choices that allow for diverse playstyles across different levels.
The development team, consisting of two individuals, emphasizes that the game is designed as a polished, small-scale experience rather than a sprawling real-time strategy title. While the current Early Access version offers a limited number of levels, the developers intend to expand the content significantly following a post-launch rest period. The project has seen substantial community interest, with wishlist numbers significantly exceeding those of the developers' previous title, Will You Snail.
To assist players in navigating the game's mechanics, the developers provided several non-tutorialized tips, including the use of hotkeys for building overviews, unit hold-position commands, and toggle-sprint functionality. The team is actively seeking community feedback regarding game balance, noting that while individual units may perform exceptionally well on specific maps, they are monitoring for any strategies that prove universally overpowered. Players are encouraged to engage with the community via Discord and provide reviews to help refine the experience and guide future development.
