The CD PROJEKT Capital Group experienced a period of financial stabilization during the first half of 2016, characterized by a year-over-year decline in revenue and net profit compared to the exceptional performance recorded in the same period of 2015. Net revenues reached PLN 318.996 million, with a net profit of PLN 134.682 million. Despite these lower figures, the organization maintained a robust balance sheet, closing the period with total assets of PLN 760.760 million and substantial cash reserves of PLN 504.323 million. The company’s equity grew to PLN 611.35 million, supported by ongoing incentive programs for key personnel and a conditional increase in share capital.
Operational reporting was refined through the rebranding of primary segments into CD PROJEKT RED and GOG.com, ensuring better alignment with the company’s core business activities. Accounting practices were also updated to improve transparency, most notably through the reclassification of videogame development expenses from inventories to fixed assets. While these adjustments, alongside changes to employee compensation and deferred tax reporting, were applied retroactively to ensure comparability, they remained purely presentational and did not impact the overall financial results or equity.
The group continues to navigate a complex fiscal environment, noting potential tax risks stemming from inconsistencies in Polish regulations. However, the company maintains a conservative approach to risk management, with no significant changes in goodwill and a consistent alignment between the carrying amounts and fair values of financial instruments. By avoiding dividend payments and focusing on long-term asset construction, the group remains positioned for continued development within the global gaming market, operating under the assumption of going concern while maintaining stable operational expenses.
