The CD PROJEKT Capital Group experienced a period of transformative financial growth during the first half of 2015, primarily driven by the successful global release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in May. Net revenues surged to 512.6 million PLN, a substantial increase from the 74.6 million PLN recorded during the same period in 2014. This performance yielded a net profit of 236.3 million PLN, marking a dramatic turnaround from the modest earnings of the previous year and elevating basic earnings per share to 2.49 PLN.
The company’s financial stability is underpinned by a robust development pipeline, which includes ongoing work on Cyberpunk 2077 and upcoming expansion packs for The Witcher franchise. To support these operations and maintain liquidity, the group expanded its revolving credit facilities and optimized its financial instruments. While revenue remains sensitive to release schedules and seasonal market fluctuations, the group maintains a stable capital structure, bolstered by a Tax Capital Group framework and performance-based incentive programs for management.
Adhering to International Financial Reporting Standards, the group employs rigorous accounting policies regarding the capitalization of development costs and asset valuation. Impairment testing confirms that core assets, such as The Witcher trademark, retain their full value. Despite facing a long-standing legal dispute with the Polish State Treasury, the organization remains a going concern with a clear focus on long-term value creation. By leveraging its primary videogame development segment and managing significant trade receivables from key distribution partners, the group has solidified its market position and financial flexibility for the remainder of the 2015 fiscal year.
