Konami Holdings Corporation achieved record-high financial results for the nine-month period ending December 31, 2021, signaling a robust recovery across its diversified business portfolio. Total consolidated revenue reached ¥215,048 million, representing a 12.0% year-on-year increase, while profit attributable to owners of the parent surged by 57.0% to ¥42,381 million. This strong fiscal performance was underpinned by a significant improvement in liquidity, with cash and cash equivalents rising to ¥231,337 million by the end of the period.
Growth was driven by the Digital Entertainment segment, which remains a core pillar of the company’s strategy, alongside a broad-based recovery in the Amusement, Gaming & Systems, and Sports business units. The Sports segment, in particular, returned to profitability following targeted cost restructuring and the strategic closure of underperforming facilities. Across all four segments, business profit improved compared to the prior year as the easing of pandemic-related restrictions allowed for more normalized operations and reduced overhead losses.
Despite these positive outcomes, the company maintains a cautious outlook regarding the remainder of the fiscal year. Due to ongoing uncertainty surrounding the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, management has not yet finalized a full-year earnings forecast. Moving forward, the company remains committed to its long-term strategic objectives, which include expanding cross-platform content development, accelerating eSports initiatives, and strengthening its global product lineup to maintain competitive momentum across its international markets.
