PCF Group
The PCF Group’s 2023 fiscal year was defined by a strategic pivot toward self-publishing and a significant financial restructuring, resulting in a net loss of 75.6 million PLN. This downturn was primarily driven by a 69.4 million PLN impairment charge on intangible assets, specifically the discontinuation of Project Dagger and the termination of other development initiatives like Dolphin. Despite these losses, the company successfully bolstered its liquidity and equity base through substantial capital injections, including a public offering of Series F and G shares that attracted anchor investment from Krafton, Inc. and generated over 200 million PLN in net cash from financing activities.
Operating across international segments, the group continues to rely on a mix of contracted development fees from major partners like Microsoft and Square Enix alongside its evolving self-publishing model. While the company reported an operating loss of 86.5 million PLN, its total assets grew to 513.5 million PLN. Management maintains a stable going-concern outlook for the next five years, supported by a year-end cash balance of 124 million PLN, a liquidity ratio of 2.33, and undrawn credit facilities in both Poland and Canada. These financial buffers are intended to sustain the development of key projects such as Project Maverick, Bifrost, and Victoria.
The group adheres to international financial reporting standards, utilizing the acquisition method for consolidation and applying the MSSF 15 model for revenue recognition. Accounting policies remain focused on the capitalization of development costs, which are amortized over five years, and the utilization of the IP Box tax relief to mitigate fiscal burdens. By prioritizing cash flow stabilization and scaling production teams for high-potential titles, the group aims to navigate the current operational volatility and transition successfully into a self-publishing entity by 2025.
