Síndrome de Down: Evaluación e Intervención (0 a 3 Años)
This clinical practice guideline, developed by the New York State Department of Health, establishes a comprehensive, evidence-based framework for the evaluation and intervention of children with Down syndrome from birth to three years of age.
- Clinical intervention for children with Down syndrome from birth to three years must be standardized through the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) to ensure consistent, evidence-based developmental support.
- Assessment must be continuous and interdisciplinary, specifically prioritizing high-risk health areas including auditory, visual, cardiac, and thyroid function, as well as oral-motor development.
- Therapeutic interventions should be personalized and integrated into daily family routines to maximize functional skill acquisition and developmental progress.
