Indonesia's Game Industry Levels Up
Indonesia's game industry is undergoing a period of significant expansion and strategic development, driven by a large domestic player base and concerted government support.
- Indonesia's gaming market reached an economic value of approximately US$1.1 billion in 2023, with 174.1 million players in 2022, representing 43% of Southeast Asia's total game players.
- President Joko Widodo signed Presidential Regulation Number 19/2024 on February 12, 2024, to accelerate national game industry development through support in research, funding, infrastructure, marketing, incentives, and intellectual property protection.
- August 8 has been designated as National Game Day in Indonesia, reflecting the nation's growing gaming industry and local developer presence.
