The program offered free exhibition space at the Indie Arena Booth for up to six selected developers, alongside a specialized networking program for up to five additional participants.
Applicants were required to be commercially oriented, maintain a Hamburg-based headquarters or branch, and possess a playable game version to be eligible for selection.
A jury consisting of representatives from the organizing bodies and the Indie Arena Booth managed the selection process for both program pathways.
The initiative provided participants with comprehensive support packages, including booth space, business lounge access, and professional workshops focused on pitching and press relations.
Following the shift of gamescom 2020 to a digital-only format, the program adapted its strategy to facilitate virtual engagement with international publishers, journalists, and trade visitors.
