The January 2024 School Internship Games program in Hamburg provided 16 ninth-grade students with a three-week immersive introduction to professional game industry roles.
Participants gained direct exposure to industry workflows through collaborations with Hamburg-based studios Fishlabs, InnoGames, and Tiny Roar.
The curriculum covered a broad spectrum of industry disciplines, including game design, audio design, production, quality assurance, product management, and data mining.
Academic integration was facilitated through partnerships with HAW Hamburg, providing students with insights into illustration and formal educational pathways.
The program concluded with a two-day game jam, allowing students to apply their training to develop original projects and build initial professional portfolios.
Due to high engagement and positive outcomes, the Initiative Creative Gaming has scheduled subsequent iterations of the program for summer 2024.
