PlayWay S.A. acquired a 94.1% controlling interest in GK III S.A. (renamed GamePlanet) on July 31, 2020, for 19,800 PLN.
Following a planned capital increase of 1.35 million PLN from third-party investors, PlayWay’s ownership stake in GamePlanet will stabilize at 72.40%.
GamePlanet will function as a production hub and incubator, with an operational goal of producing at least a dozen game titles annually.
At the time of acquisition, GamePlanet had already identified over 20 pre-production projects for potential development.
The subsidiary maintains a strategic partnership with the Pawel Wlodkowic University in Płock, which remains a significant shareholder in the entity.
This acquisition is part of PlayWay’s broader strategy to scale its portfolio by utilizing specialized subsidiaries to accelerate high-volume IP acquisition and development.
