PlayWay S.A. and Ultimate Games S.A. have partnered to develop and release Thief Simulator 2 for PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and next-gen consoles with a target release date in 2021.
Ultimate Games will receive a fixed lump-sum payment plus a percentage of net profits from all platform sales as part of the production agreement.
Publishing responsibilities are split, with PlayWay handling PC and major home consoles, while Ultimate Games retains rights for the Nintendo Switch version.
Ultimate Games is authorized to sublicense the porting and publishing of the Nintendo Switch version to its subsidiary, UF Games S.A.
The original development team behind Thief Simulator has been commissioned to create a separate title, American Theft 80, to expand the franchise brand.
The concurrent development of Thief Simulator 2 and American Theft 80 represents a strategic effort to consolidate resources and maximize the commercial potential of the simulation franchise.
